Teikyo University has many international students enrolled. We will introduce various international exchanges that can be done on campus, in addition to international exchanges that allow you to experience the world through interactions with international students, and overseas study and training programs.
International Exchange Assistants
There is a student-led group called the "International Exchange Assistants" that is made up of current students and aims to support international students. The group aims to alleviate the anxiety of international students who are about to jump into a new environment, make their study abroad experience more meaningful, and also to promote interaction between current and international students.
Resident assistants live in international student dormitories with international students and provide daily support to ensure that international students can live in the dormitories safely and comfortably. They plan events within the dormitories where students can interact with each other and provide support for dormitories management.
It opened in 2021 on Hachioji Campus as a language commons centered on the Japanese language. The space, modeled after a Japanese house, is home to the Japanese language learning space [SHOSAI], the meeting space [CHANOMA], interview rooms, exhibition spaces, as well as Office of Global Education, which is responsible for accepting international students and studying abroad. A variety of mutual exchange events are held here, including seasonal events, cultural exchange meetings, and workshops. It is a place for interaction between Japanese students and international students, where they can experience different cultures and the global world on campus, and develop free thinking and diverse values.
This space consolidates the language-related student support functions of the Hachioji Campus. As a campus-wide learning support space and a symbol of the globalization of the campus, this space supports language education at the University from many angles. It creates a comfortable atmosphere where students can enjoy meeting the people and events necessary to improve their language skills while gaining awareness, opportunities, and resources.
